What is the Humboldt Regional Newcomer Centre?

The Humboldt Regional Newcomer Centre (HRNC) is a walk-in, free resource centre where our staff will help newcomers settle and integrate into their community. The HRNC is a one stop gateway for assistance with immigration concerns and referrals to necessary agencies to help meet the needs of newcomers. We offer access to computers, a printer, a fax machine, and a photocopier, which can be used at your own pace and as often as you wish. The HRNC aims to provide support, information, resources and referrals to newcomers across the region to ensure a successful move to Saskatchewan. The HRNC not only offers services to its newcomers in Humboldt, they reach out to all communities within its region through their settlement advisors and SWIS workers. The HRNC is available to permanent residents, temporary residents and Canadian Citizens and can be accessed by phone, in person, and by e-mail.

What is SWIS (Settlement Worker in Schools)?

SWIS is a school-based program aimed at helping newcomer students and their families settle in the school and community. SWIS connects newcomer families to services and resources in the school and the community.

Do I need to book an appointment to come to the HRNC?

An appointment is not necessary to visit the HRNC. If you require more in-depth service, we encourage you to book an appointment so we can provide you the best possible service.

Are the services provided by the HRNC free?

Yes the services provided by the HRNC are free. If you are unable to come to Humboldt, the HRNC will arrange to visit you in your community for free.
